For its 60th anniversary, Labaronne-Citaf has chosen to join forces with Solidarités International in its fight for « Drinking water for alL »

“Four out of ten people in the world suffer from water shortages” according to the United Nations, which predicts a probable deterioration in the future as a result of climate change.

Aware of this state of emergency, Labaronne-Citaf wishes to contribute to the preservation of water, which is becoming the rarest and most precious resource on earth. And despite the many warnings issued over the past few years, awareness is still insufficient. This is why, in addition to providing NGOs with storage solutions for more than 30 years, Labaronne-Citaf wants to contribute by offering to finance projects that are concerned and invested in this approach.

For its 60th anniversary, Labaronne-Citaf has chosen to join Solidarités International in its fight “Drinking water for all” by supporting its actions in Africa.
“Increasingly intense natural disasters, longer and longer conflicts, more and more refugees. The humanitarian situation in 2019 is alarming. More and more people need help, shelter, food… They also need clean drinking water. This healthy water that will not kill them, that will not make them sick. There is an urgent need… (see 2019 Water and Sanitation Barometer »)

Throughout the year, for every litre of storage sold, Labaronne-Citaf undertakes to transfer part of the sales made to Solidarités International at the end of the year. “Last year we manufactured and sold the equivalent of 230,000,000,000 litres of storage through our flexible tanks. This year we aim to reach 250,000,000,000 litres and to share this with Solidarités International, with whom we have been working for several years.” underlines Benoît Balandras, CEO.

Because that’s where it all started for Labaronne-Citaf. The cradle of the company’s founder, André-Lucien Labaronne, in the 1950s, at the origin of the invention of the flexible cistern, a practical water storage system that was easy to transport and use.

But also because Africa is the continent for which the water issue, in all its social, political, environmental and economic dimensions, has the greatest impact on the future. “The African continent has more than 5,000 billion m3 of water in its groundwater, but 844 million inhabitants still do not have access to drinking water… Without this natural resource, water, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is impossible. Social tensions are increasing and the health of Africans is worsening in these geographical areas where water is scarce. ” (source Ouest France)

To be able to measure the progress of the action, the volumetric counter installed on our site displays in real time the capacities of the tanks sold during the year. Each purchase then becomes a gesture of solidarity! By choosing Labaronne-Citaf, our customers choose a committed manufacturer, who donates part of the sales made to save water, to clean it and make it accessible to all. They thus become actors in ensuring access to water for all!

Thank you and congratulations to all those who trust us!
