A borehole project for the Onsikoto school
One of Jarnati’s key initiatives for 2025–2026 is to provide clean drinking water to schoolchildren in the village of Onsikoto. Today, students must walk 1.2 km round trip to fetch water for the school canteen.
This installation will give children and villagers easier access to clean water—a scarce and precious resource in the area.
Providing safe water near the school and village reduces health risks, eases daily burdens (especially for children), and encourages regular school attendance—particularly for young girls, who are often tasked with fetching water.
A local nonprofit with deep roots
Based in southeastern France, Jarnati has been working for over 15 years to support communities in Benin. Their actions include donating school and medical supplies, providing equipment to local schools, and leading water access projects.
They work closely with local stakeholders to ensure that each initiative is effective, impactful, and sustainable.
The Onsikoto borehole is part of a broader commitment to create a safer, healthier, and more equitable learning environment for children in Benin.
